JAMMU, Mar 23: Many political, social, educational and other organizations here today remembered freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their martyr day.
Congress party paid rich tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru to mark the day of martyrdom of these freedom fighters. Working president JKPCC, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on this occasion and he said that these heroes fought for the welfare of people and sacrificed their lives for the same cause. Many other Congress leaders also remembered the sacrifices of these freedom fighters
Sham Lal Sharma, J&K BJP vice president while paying rich tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev asserted that their sacrifices will be remembered by the country forever. Speaking at a function organized by Umeed Charitable Trust Akhnoor to pay tributes to the great revolutionary freedom fighters, Sharma stressed upon the need for youth to get proactively involved in philanthropic activities and serve the needy sections of the society.
BJYM paid tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru on their martyrdom day. In this regard, a Tiranga rally was organized under the leadership of BJYM National Media Incharge, Amandeep Singh and BJYM J&K president, Arun Prabhat at Katra in which Prabhat said that younger generations should get inspiration from sacrifices of the martyrs.
BJP leader, Sanjay Kumar Baru organized a tributes paying function at Bohri in which former BJP J&K president, Sat Sharma along with others paid tributes to the legendary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru.
President NC Central Zone, Babu Ram Paul paid rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev at a function organized by the Forum for Peace, Territorial Integrity of J&K to commemorate the Shaheedi Diwas of the martyrs.
Maharaja Gulab Singh Brigade (MGSB) paid rich tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev. Anil Singh Rakwal, president MGSB along with others paid floral tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev and said that sacrifices of these martyrs will be remembered by the country forever.
Kisan Sabha commemorated the Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru at a function in Paloura. Speaking on the occasion, Kisan Sabha president, Hari Chand Jalmeria said that Bhagat Singh and his associates had clear vision of overthrowing the British imperialist rule and establishing socialism in India with no room for exploitation of a man by another man.
S.S Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi along with others offered rich tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and all other valiant warriors who fought for their country and embraced martyrdom on March 23, 2022. All present on the occasion observed a silence of two minutes to pay respect to the martyrs.
In order to pay tributes to three great freedom fighters Baghat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day a function was organized at Headquarters of JKAP 4th Sec Bn in Channi Himmat under the supervision of Ashok Kumar Sharma, Commandant of the Bn who highlighted the role of Bhagat Singh and his associates in the freedom struggle and urged the gathering to follow the principles propagated by these freedom fighters.
National Secular Forum, University Unit paid tributes to Saheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day and raised slogans praising these freedom fighters.
To commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev, GGM Science College in the presence of Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, College Principal and others observed Martyr Day. On this occasion poster making and slogan writing competition on ‘Shaheedi Diwas’ was held.
Students of GGM Science College Jammu led by Piyush Gupta and Sushant Khajuria paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day. Inspector Vijay Sharma SHO Police Station Nowabad and Atul Sudan, State vice president JJSF were the special invitees on the occasion.
The NSS unit of Government College of Education also celebrated Shaheed Diwas.
Various programmes were organized in the college to pay tributes to these freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the freedom of India. The programmes were Plog Run, Poster and Slogan Making Competition, Blood Donation, Light A Candle and Social Media Publicity.
In the beginning, NSS Nodal Officer, Dr Shubhra Jamwal welcomed all the dignitaries, students, NSS volunteers and staff members. A one minute silence was observed by the members of the management, students, faculty and non-teaching staff as a mark of respect towards the martyrs.
Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of GCOE, in her presidential address, urged students to read autobiography of freedom fighters and inculcate at least one of their qualities in life.
The judges of the event were Prof Satish Sharma, Dr Anuradha Seth, and Prof Savtanter Kour. First, second and third prize was bagged by Shivali Sharma, Arushi Sharma and Samreeti Verma in Poster Making Competition. In Slogan Making Competition first prize was bagged by Arushi Sharma, Second and Third prize was given to Rinchen Dolkar and Kanchan Sharma.
Dr Sushma Bala, Prof Rubina Yasmeen, Prof Satish Sharma, Dr Anuradha Seth, Prof Savtanter Kour, Prof Anju Bala, Prof Vinay Lata, Prof Anuradha Choudhary, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Seema Kumari and Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti were also present on the occasion.
Shaheedi Diwas was observed at PSPS Government P.G College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu by organizing declamation contest, slogan writing and poster making competition. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Sangita Nagari and others paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev who sacrificed their lives in freedom struggle of India.
NSS unit of Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu organized a series of events to commemorate Shaheedi Diwas of Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev. These events were held under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sameru Sharma who in her address said that Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev sacrificed their lives for their nation and became inspiration for others.
Government College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar organized a series of activities in collaboration with NSS Unit of the College to pay tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day. The progamme was inaugurated by the College Principal, Prof. Minnie Sharma who in her address highlighted the sacrifices made by our martyrs for getting independence.
NSS Unit of Government Degree College Kunjwani/Sainik Colony observed Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru under the patronage of Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj. Different activities like documentary film on the martyrdom of freedom fighters, speeches on the life history of Bhagat Singh and patriotic songs by the students were organized on this occasion.
NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra commemorated Shaheedi Diwas of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru and organized activities like pledge taking ceremony, motivational lecture and documentary on the life of Bhagat Singh.
Rich tributes were paid to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his martyrdom day by Prof. Aekta Gupta, Principal GDC Marh, teaching and non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers and students. A documentary movie was screened on the biography of Bhagat Singh.
Government Degree College (GDC) Jourian organized an online poster making competition on Martyr’s Day in collaboration with Cultural Affair Committee and NSS unit of the College under the guidance of Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal of the College.
NCC & NSS unit of GDC Khour observed Shaheedi Diwas and the programme began with lightening of ceremonial lamp followed by floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru. A documentary on biography of Bhagat Singh was also screened.
NSS Unit (Khidmat) of GDC Vijaypur remembered Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru on their martyrdom day and garlanded their portraits and offered floral tributes to them. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College who while addressing said that great martyrs laid down their lives for our independence.
To commemorate the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru, the NSS unit of GDC Bishnah organized a lecture, pledge taking ceremony and a plantation drive as part of the ongoing seven day special camp. Kashab Kumar, Assistant Professor in History threw light on the life and vision of the martyrs.
GDC Samba remembered martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru on their martyrdom day and organized a seminar on Bhagat Singh. The event started with lightening of traditional lamp which was followed by welcome address to chief guest GDC Samba Principal, Dr. (Prof.) Ashok Bhagat. All the participants shared their views on Bhagat Singh.
National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-Prabha of GDC Ramgarh held a series of activities to remember Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru on their Martyrdom Day. The events were organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College.
A pledge ceremony and a rally were organized by NSS, RRC and NCC units of GDC for Women Kathua to commemorate Martyrs Day. Principal Dr. M.S Pathania said, the three heroes Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru were hanged to death at very young age. He stressed upon the students that these national heroes should be the role models of the youth of today.
NSS unit GDC Kathua remembered martyrs Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev and organized a symposium on the topic ‘Yuva Krantikariyon Ka Azadi Main Yogdan’. In-charge Principal, Dr. Shub Kumar Sharma and others talked on the life of martyrs.
NSS and NCC Units of Government GLDM Degree College Hiranagar observed martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh and organized an online quiz competition on this occasion which was followed by poster making and slogan writing competition.
NSS Unit of GDC Bani in collaboration with Department of Political Science organized a special lecture on Saheedi Diwas. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Vishal Sharma, Principal GDC Bani wherein a patriotic group song was presented by Neelk Singh, Sunny Kumar, Lalita Devi, Radha Devi and Shakti Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Pushma Devi of Semester 2nd.
NSS Unit of GDC (Boys), Udhampur observed Saheedi Diwas and organized various activities. The entire event was organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Subhash Chander Sharma. The programme commenced with a symposium on Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh which was followed by a pledge-ceremony.
Under the supervision of Dr. Udhey Bhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar and under the guidance of Prof. Ritika Mahajan, NSS PO of the College, NSS Unit of GDC Ramnagar paid rich tributes to Saheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru.
GDC Dudu Basantgarh organized intra-college quiz competition on ‘Shaheedi Diwas’. The students and staff members took pledge to build India as a nation of brotherhood and harmony.
GDC Dharmari celebrated Saheedi Diwas in collaboration with NSS Unit of the College. The programme was organized by Prof. Anoj Kumar along with Prof. Baldev Singh, Coordinator of NSS Unit, under the guidance of Principal Dr. K.K Sharma. On this occasion students participated in different events like patriotic song, debate competition, slogan writing, poster making and poetry recitation.
NSS Unit of GDC Kakryal/ Katra in collaboration with Department of History observed Shaheedi Diwas and paid tributes to martyrs. Debate and slogan writing on Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters was held under the patronage of Principal, Dr. C.K Khajuria.
GDC Ukhral organized many programmes to commemorate martyrs of freedom struggle. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Ranvijay Singh hailed the bravery of martyrs and prayed for peace to their souls.
Cultural Committee of GDC Sunderbani in collaboration with NSS Unit of the College observed Saheedi Diwas to remember of the sacrifice of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Raj Guru. The trio fought for freedom of India from the colonial rulers and sacrificed their lives on March 23, 1931.
NSS Units (Boys and Girls) of Government PG College Rajouri celebrated Martyrs Day and paid tributes to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru who fought for the freedom of India.
NSS Unit of GDC Thanna Mandi observed ‘Shaheedi Diwas’ and paid tributes to the martyrs. The event was organized under the patronage of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi. A symposium was organized in which several students participated.

GDC Kotranka observed Shaheedi Diwas by organizing pledge taking ceremony, lecture on unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle and screening of documentary and movies.
GDC Darhal NSS Unit observed Shaheedi Diwas by organizing a poster making competition. Principal of the College, Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia lauded the sacrifices of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and others.
GDC Batote celebrated Shaheedi Diwas of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and others. A documentary film on Shaheed Bhagat Singh was shown to the students of the College after which a pledge taking ceremony was also held.
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Udhampur city unit organized a Tiranga Yatra on the occasion of Swadheenta-75 and Trimurti Balidan Diwas in which students from GDC Udhampur and Government College for Women Udhampur participated. ABVP Udhampur District Convener, Sudarshan Dogra threw light on the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev.
