JAMMU, Feb 9: Different unions and association of the PHE Department Jammu held a meeting under the chairmanship of Kartar Chand Dubey to discuss the unresolved issues of the PHE employees and workers.
In the meeting, the members have shown their concern regarding the delaying tactics adopted the Government incase of regularization. After threadbare discussion on present scenario and the difficulties of the casual and other workers due to no disbursement of wages on time and delay in releasing the pending wages, the participants in the meeting decided to revive the united front in the form of PHE Employees United Front Jammu Province, which comprise of departmental unions and associations namely PHE Workers Welfare Association, Water Works PHE Employees Association, PHE Department Drivers and Cleaners Union, Government Service Assistant PHE Employees Association, etc.
In the meeting, it was also decided to start the agitation from February 20 by holding protest demonstration on Phase-I to draw the attention of the Government towards the unresolved demands of the PHE employees and workers including speedy regularization of the casual and other workers, release of pending wages, compassionate appointments of the next kith and kin of the deceased daily wagers, Rs 5 lakh special assistance to the retiring casual workers, framing of retirement policy, conducting of DPC meeting for permanent employees on time, creation of 20 posts of transport foremen for drivers and cleaners cadre, stoppage of recoveries, etc.
Among others present were Bakdhi Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Davinder Singh, Subash Verma, Ajay Sharma, Kulbhushan Singh and Bhanu Partap Singh.
