Different yardstick for B Ed/M Ed courses not acceptable: Sangarsh

JAMMU, June 20: The Sangarsh organization has lambasted the political leaders of Jammu region for their criminal silence over the extension of B Ed /M Ed from the current academic session.
Interacting with the media persons, here today, Nitan Sharma, president of Sangarsh JU wing, said this was one more example of discrimination with the talented young minds of Jammu region as the Higher Education Department of the State Government was all set to extend the tenure of B Ed /M Ed courses from one year to two years. “Such a step shows that the State Government has a different approach while dealing with the students of this particular university,” he alleged.
“It is really surprising that when all others universities of the State have one year course then what is the logic to extend the same for the students of Jammu University?”, he sought to know and alleged that by initiating this step, the State Government has shown its malafide intentions to divert the students to opt other options so that they can accommodate only Kashmiri students in the teaching positions of the State.
