SRINAGAR: Paying tribute to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on his retirement today, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said it is difficult to imagine the game without him.
“Difficult to imagine Indian Cricket without Sachin – the highs, the lows, the celebration and the exasperation that he brought,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter minutes after Sachin made the lap of honour on his home ground — Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Calling the batting legend a “true gentleman”, Omar said Sachin’s retirement from the game made him emotional although he was not a big cricket fan for a while now.
“Haven’t been a big cricket fan for a while now but to see Sachin retire today brought a lump to my throat, a true gentleman,” he added. (AGENCIES)
