RAMBAN, Oct 18: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range, Shridhar Patil chaired a Crime Review Meeting (CRM) at the Conference Hall, PCR Ramban, on Friday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Kulbir Singh, and other senior officers, including Additional SP Ramban Gaurav Mahajan and DySPs from various sub divisions, attended the meeting.
SSP Ramban briefed the DIG on the district’s law and order, crime, and security situation. He highlighted the steps taken to strengthen the security grid and improve policing in Ramban.
During the meeting, DIG Patil reviewed the status of pending cases under various laws, including UAPA, NDPS Act, Excise, and crimes against women and children.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, preventing crime, ensuring speedy investigation, and addressing public grievances. He also stressed the need to strengthen police-public relations.
DIG Patil urged investigation officers to improve the quality of their investigations and case disposals, adopting modern techniques and standard practices for better results.
He also highlighted the importance of beat patrolling and keeping updated records. SHOs were instructed to keep a close watch on Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) and other suspects in their areas.
Supervisory officers were asked to play an active role by conducting regular meetings and closely monitoring important cases to achieve better results by the year’s end.
Improving investigation and prosecution standards to secure more convictions was also stressed.
Following the crime review meeting, DIG Patil held a Darbar at District Police Lines (DPL) Ramban with jawans, listening to their grievances and assuring them of prompt resolution.
He also commended the officers and jawans for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Parliamentary elections, SANJY-2024, and the Assembly elections.
In his concluding remarks, DIG Patil encouraged the officers and jawans to perform their duties with integrity and commitment to provide the best possible public service.
