JAMMU, Oct 15: DIG, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani held a meeting at Vijaypur and reviewed crime graph of district Samba.
He asked the officers to take preventive measures to ensure peace and tranquility in the area. He also directed the officers to take stern action against drug peddlers, so that the menace of drug is minimized and also directed them for disposal of criminal cases at the earliest.
Joginder Singh SSP Samba, Ravi Kant SP Traffic Jammu, Fiesel Qureshi Additional SP Samba, Shamsher Singh SDPO Vijaypur, DySP Traffic and SHO Vijaypur were present on the occasion.
Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of Vijaypur and its surrounding areas also attended the meeting. Ram Paul, Bubble Gupta, Sudagar Gupta, Khajur Singh Sarpanch Raya, Naroutam Singh Ex-Chairman, Municipality, Rajesh Padgotra, leader Panthers Party, Surinder and Shiv Kumar Gupta also spoke on the occasion and highlighted their problems being faced by the general public on day to day basis. Most of prominent citizens highlighted the traffic related problems of Vijaypur Bazaar as well as with regard to drug menace and other minor issues.
DIG Jammu while addressing the gathering assured that all the genuine problems of Vijaypur Bazaar will be addressed shortly. He said that Police is dealing with the land grabbers and drug peddler with iron hand and also requested the general public to assist police in providing information relating to drug paddling if any they have, so that the menace of drug paddling is eradicated.
He also said that the territorial officers have already been directed to dispose off the issues relating to the police services on account of pass port verification, character verification at the earliest in order to minimize the public grievances.
