DIG Jammu visits Samba, reviews police working

SAMBA, May 29: Atul Goel, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Range, Jammu visited District Police Headquarters Samba and took stock of COVID-19 preparedness by the Samba Police.
The DIG was received by SSP Samba Rajesh Sharma and Additional SP Samba, Ajaz Ahmed Zarger at District Police Headquarters Samba. At the very outset of the meeting, SSP Samba briefed the officer about the current scenario of COVID-19 in the district and their preparedness to contain the spread of Coronavirus and also about other important professional issues.
Later during introductory meeting he held one to one interaction with all the supervisory officers present in the meeting. The DIG took stock of precautionary measures taken to minimize the spread of COVID-19 infection. He impressed upon the officers to work with professionalism, sincerity and in a dedicated manner for the welfare of people. All the officers were asked to strictly enforce the COVID-19 SOPs guidelines and Government directives to safeguard the lives from Corona infection. The officers were directed to exercise effective supervision over their respective subordinate units and ensure quality investigation in criminal cases. The DIG stressed upon supervisory officers to adopt proactive approach towards all professional and sensitive matters in their respective areas of responsibilities.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Samba, DySP Hqrs Samba, SDPO Vijaypur, DySP DAR Samba, DySP PC, Samba and senior Prosecuting Officer of District Police Samba.
At the conclusion of the meeting, SSP Samba assured that District Police Samba will work as a team to come up with the expectations of the general public and senior police formations.
