JAMMU, June 22: Dr Sunil Gupta, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, ceremoniously commenced the Bharat Darshan Tour today at GO’s Mess, Gulshan Ground Jammu.
The tour, part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu, saw the participation of 66 students from various corners of Ramban district along with two caretakers.
The students, accompanied by caretakers, will embark on a journey starting from Jammu to Delhi, and then proceed to Chennai. The tour is scheduled from June 22, 2024, to June 26, 2024.
Dr Sunil Gupta extended his best wishes to the students for a joyful and secure journey, encouraging them to seize the opportunity to expand their knowledge through visits to historical landmarks in Delhi and Chennai, as well as exploring India’s modern achievements.
Addressing the students, Dr Gupta emphasized the importance of experiencing India’s rich diversity in culture, flora, and fauna, urging them to interact openly with people they meet along the way.
He highlighted that such tours contribute to the students’ global perspective, fostering a sense of responsibility towards society.
During their itinerary, the students will visit iconic sites including Lal Qila, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Delhi Zoo, Delhi Museum, Parliament, Delhi Metro in Delhi, and Taj Mahal in Agra. They will also explore various historical places in Chennai.
The Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu has provided comprehensive arrangements for boarding, lodging, and air travel for the participants.
The event was attended by senior officials including SO to ADGP Jammu Zone, SP Headquarters Jammu, and other district police officers from Jammu.
