JAMMU, July 31: Regional Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Jammu, in collaboration with prominent figures such as educationists, doctors, transporters, local union leaders, and dignitaries from drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centers, organized a drug awareness event here today.
The event featured a powerful Nukad Natak (street play) aimed at raising awareness about the harmful impact of substance abuse on individuals and society.
Held at DPL Jammu, the event received an enthusiastic response from attendees, making it a significant step towards fostering a drug-free community.
ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, graced the occasion as the chief guest and shared inspiring words, urging the youth to focus on better pursuits and stay away from harmful substances.
SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, also addressed the attendees, enlightening them about the detrimental effects of drug use and motivating them to lead a goal-oriented lifestyle.
DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Jammu, Shakti Pathak’s impactful speech significantly influenced the audience. He highlighted the one-year action plan formulated by RPHQ Jammu, spanning 25 Police stations, including Police Posts of District Jammu, over 52 weeks to combat drug abuse.
This comprehensive plan, he said, aims to engage and empower the community through a series of impactful activities.
The conference also received valuable inputs from college lecturers, transport unions, labor unions, drug de-addiction center heads, and chemist association heads, all of whom appreciated the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police in organizing such awareness events to combat drug menace.
Educationists from various institutions expressed their desire to have similar events in their institutions to raise awareness among youth and students. Doctors also provided beneficial suggestions and guidance regarding drug abuse, while Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, President of Criminology Society, shared his views on drug awareness.
The event involved various activities, including a Nukad Natak by Nav Durga Kala Manch, effectively conveying the message of drug awareness to everyone.
The staff of RPHQ Jammu also played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
