JAMMU, Mar 5: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar, today conducted a surprise security review in Jammu district.
The review aimed to evaluate the preparedness of local law enforcement and strengthen security measures in the region.
During the visit, DIG Kumar inspected key areas, including Jewel Chowk and the Bus Stand, where he interacted with police officers and personnel on duty.
He was accompanied by SHO Nowabad, SHO Bus Stand, and DySP HQ Jammu.
In a separate event, DIG Kumar presided over a piping ceremony for newly promoted Sub-Inspectors at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The ceremony was attended by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, SP South Ajay, SSP Traffic Qureshi, and SDPO Sunil Jasrotia.
Additionally, a deputation of Muslim women from the Batindi, Chowadi, and Sunjwan areas met with DIG Kumar to raise concerns regarding fraud and cheating by a private company, which had exploited local residents under the guise of Government schemes.
DIG Kumar assured the women that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators.
