JAMMU, June 20: In preparation for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2024, Dr Sunil Gupta, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, today conducted a comprehensive security review at base camp Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
He was accompanied by Dr Vinod Kumar, SSP Jammu.
During the inspection, DIG JSK Range assessed the deployment of guards, checked CCTV surveillance, and reviewed the parking facilities at the base camp along the yatra route.
Dr Sunil Gupta issued directives to SSP Jammu to ensure foolproof security arrangements around the venue.
Special briefings were conducted for officers and personnel deployed, emphasizing the sensitivity and criticality of their duties.
Heightened vigilance was stressed, particularly during night hours, with instructions to bolster checkpoint operations.
The security strategy includes plans to manage the anticipated surge in pilgrim numbers, encompassing traffic management, emergency response readiness, medical provisions, and disaster preparedness to address potential health crises during the Yatra.
Present during the review were SP North Jammu, DySP Headquarters Jammu, SHO Nowabad, and the Incharge of Police Post Canal.
