JAMMU, July 23: In wake of the forth coming annual Shri Budda Amarnath Ji Yatra Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri Poonch range Dr. Haseeb Mughal IPS, toured Poonch district today and took security review meeting at district Police Office Poonch. A detailed presentation regarding the security arangements was presented by Rohit Baksotra, SSP Poonch and all the security aspects were discussed in detail.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Addl SP poonch Mushim Ahmed, all the SDPO’s/SHO’s besides representatives of CRPF and other security agencies. The DIG was also briefed about security arrangements made in wake of forth coming Muharram and the Independence Day.
Haseeb Mughal stressed upon all the officers to work in close coordination and put in their best efforts to make the Yatra a successful event. He also briefed the SDPOs/ SHO regarding prevailing law and order situation, measures to be adopted to control drug menace, traffic violation, mining issues and preventive measures to be undertaken to thwart the nefarious design of anti-national elements.
Later Dr Mughal also interacted with the PSI’s posted in the disrict. He stressed upon the offices to work very hard and provide public friendly policing , adopt the scientific tools of investigation and wished them good luck in their career ahead. He also enjoined upon them to use latest technical means and keep them abreast with technical, computer skills as cyber crime is and will be a future challenge.
The DIG also held a meeting with prominent citizens of Poonch in the Dak Bunglow Poonch where citizens from all walks of life putforth their issues. He gave a patient hearing to all and impressed upon them to provide all assistance to Poonch Police to curb all types of crime.
