DIG reviews security, assesses terror-drug related cases

KISHTWAR, Oct 26: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range, Dr. Sunil Gupta here today reviewed security during his visit to Kishtwar.
Primary objective of the visit was to ensure inter-forces coordination, assessment of winter preparedness for area domination and conducting rescue operations as and when need arises.
In a detailed crime review meeting held at DPL Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal presented a thorough analysis, encompassing crime statistics, terrorist activities, cases under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases and other related crimes.
During meeting, the DIG emphasized on the need for meticulous investigations and called for the utilization of modern technological tools to enhance effectiveness of law enforcement efforts.
Critical cases were reviewed and immediate directives were issued to raise standards of investigations and streamline trial processes.
The DIG expressed unwavering dedication to justice and urged investigating officers to ensure that the cases are resolved on merits.
The meeting also brought to light various initiatives, including Operation MILAN, Operation SAJRA, Operation TOUCH, Operation PATHSHALA, KAMDHENU, BACHAV, SANJEEVANI and Operation THIRD EYE.
Police officers and officials present in the meeting were encouraged to engage with local communities to facilitate the installation of CCTV cameras, thereby enhancing surveillance capabilities and fostering safer environments.
