DIG reviews security, preparedness for upcoming LS Election

KISHTWAR, Apr 4: DIG DKR Range, Shridhar Patil here today reviewed security and crime scenario along with the preparedness for upcoming Lok Sabha (LS) Election-2024.
Accompanied by SSP Abdul Qayoom and other district officers, the DIG presided over a detailed crime review meeting at the conference hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar.
He also met with the NoKs of the Martyrs and comforted them with path concerning their well-being and welfare.
In the outset of meeting, SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom presented a detailed Power Point presentation highlighting various activities, cases under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, NDPS Act cases and other related crimes.
Additionally, preparations for the upcoming LS elections and Eid Ul Fitr festival were thoroughly discussed.
Following the crime review meeting, the DIG inspected District Police Office Kishtwar, where he assessed the working of Police Control Room and the CCTV unit.
He also visited the recently established Cyber Propaganda Counter Unit (CPCU) and the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) and interacted with officials posted in these units, who provided insights into their functioning and achievements.
The DIG appreciated the exemplary performance of all the team members and encouraged them to maintain their dedication to duty to achieve the goals set for these units by PHQ J&K and ZPHQ Jammu.
He also held a brief meeting with DC Kishtwar, Army and CAPF Officers of Kishtwar and discussed preparedness of LS-2024 election.
A handout stated that location for incoming CAPF companies at Polytechnic College Chehrar was also inspected by the DIG and he issued necessary directions for comfortable stay of CAPF during their visit.
