JAMMU, Aug 12: Sanskrit Week is being organized by Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sanathan Trust along with Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli and Central Sanskrit University, Kot Bhalwal.
The inaugural function in this connection was held amid chanting of Vedic hymns at Government Higher Secondary School, Muthi Jammu. The function was presided over by Prof Madan Mohan Jha (Director Central University Jammu) while Shakti Pathak, DIG Jammu-Samba- Kathua Range was the chief guest. Special guests were Ashok Sharma (Director School Education Jammu), Councilor Suraj Padha and Mahant Rohit Shastri (President Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sanathan trust).
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Mohan Jha appealed to the people to use Sanskrit language more and more at home and outside. He regretted that Sanskrit language was getting the least priority in our daily life. “Even though Sanskrit is known as the first Indian language, which developed many other branches like Tamil, Hindi etc, unfortunately its use in our daily life has become extremely limited,” he said.
DIG Shakti Pathak said that learning Sanskrit language sharpens the mind and gives knowledge of ancient books and scriptures which are mainly written in Sanskrit language. Such events will boost the morale of Sanskrit lovers and appeal them to remain united and work for the preservation of their culture and moral values.
Director School Education Ashok Sharma said that we should try to teach Sanskrit language to children at home only then we can advise others to use this language.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, the head of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sanathan Trust, said that Rishis and sages chose this language for composing mantras because the pronunciation of the words of this language was very effective in creating proper vibrations in the brain.
Ajay Sharma, Trustee of the Trust and organizer of the programme, said that Sanskrit week is being celebrated to promote Devvani Sanskrit.
School Principal Kiran Sharma proposed vote of thanks. On this occasion, Shakti Pathak also led a plantation drive.
President of Warehouse Association Jammu Deepak Gupta; SS Rathore, CEO Jammu; Vishal, SDPO Domana; Prof Sharad Chandra Sharma, Master Vijay Sharma, Yash Seth, Rajinder Seth, Naresh Raina, Jagdev Singh Chib, Madan Lal, Desh Raj, Ajay Bhagat, Vijay Sharma and Uttam Chand Sharma were also present.
