JAMMU, Aug 8: Sanskrit week was inaugurated today with an impressive procession from Shri Raghunath Temple, Jammu under the joint aegis of Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus Jammu and Choodamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli.
DIG Shakti Pathak inaugurated the Sanskrit procession with ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’. On this occasion, he stressed that the ancient language of India is Sanskrit, which is protecting our culture. Therefore, he added, today there is a need that Sanskrit should reach the people so that the glorious culture of India can become more widespread.
Director of Central Sanskrit University also spoke on the occasion and said that to further strengthen the ancient tradition of India, we all have to make Sanskrit the language of the common people.
The procession started from Shri Raghunath temple and concluded at the Parade Ground via Purani Mandi. Businessmen and dignitaries of Hari Market, along with students and teachers of the university also joined the procession and were welcomed by the dignitaries at the place.
On this occasion Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Trust; Rajkumar Langar, Head of Gaushala Jammu; Deepak Gupta, Head Traders Federation Ware House (Nehru Market) Jammu; Jammu Kashmir Brahmin Sabha President Atul Sharma; Ward No 11 Councilor Anita Sharma; Sunil, head of Raghunath Market, Vijay Sharma, Prof Prabhat Mohapatra, Sarat Chandra Sharma, Dr Madan Kumar Jha, Dr Gopal Varma, Dr Yogendra Dixit, Dr Madan Singh, Kamal Kishore, Maninander Singh, Praveen Kumar, Dr Pramod Shukla, Dr Anayamani Tripathi and Dr Shibashish were also present.
