RAMBAN, June 25: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Shridhar Patil today visited Ramban District to oversee the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
A high-level security review meeting was held at the Police Conference Hall in this regard in Ramban, highlighting the critical aspects in anticipation of the pilgrimage set to commence on June 29, 2024.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Anuj Kumar, alongside Additional SP Ramban Gourav Mahajan, commenced proceedings with a comprehensive presentation on the preparedness for the Yatra.
The meeting witnessed the participation of key stakeholders including Brigadier Joe Sabby, Commander 11 Sector RR, and representatives from CRPF, CISF, IRP, among others.
In addressing the gathering, DIG Patil stressed the paramount importance of synchronized efforts among all security agencies to combat the rising threat of terrorism in the region.
Discussions encompassed current security dynamics, law enforcement strategies, and measures to thwart attempts at insurgency revival.
Key deliberations also centered on traffic management, emergency response strategies, and ensuring public safety throughout the Yatra.
Detailed assessments of deployment plans were reviewed to ensure readiness for any potential contingencies during the pilgrimage.
“Our primary objective,” emphasized DIG Patil, “is to ensure a secure and peaceful Amarnath Yatra. We are committed to collaborating closely with all stakeholders to provide a safe environment for pilgrims.”
He encouraged vigilance among Yatra attendees, urging them to promptly report any suspicious activities.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve from senior officers to implement a robust traffic plan and heightened security measures, aiming for a seamless experience for all pilgrims.
