DIG stresses for decent behaviour at Thana level

JAMMU, Apr 25: In order to win public confidence, Range Police Jammu today organized a seminar in DPL Jammu on behavioural change at Police Station level.
All Munshis (MHCs) of all the Police stations of Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range attended the brain storming workshop.
Shakeel A Beig, DIG Jammu, while speaking on the occasion, said that complainant and all the law abiding citizen should be treated with highest respect. Thus all Police personnel especially Munshis of Police Stations should be polite, fare and impartial while dealing with the general public and at the same time must deal with hard core criminals with an iron hand, he added and further said that Police must win public confidence by virtue of over good behaviour and refrain from such acts that would defame credibility and dignity of the Department.
DIG further reiterated that decency of highest order be ensured at Police station level as complainant are generally  worst sufferers when they approach Police Station and thus they deserve respect of highest order and be provided at least a glass of water before giving them patient hearing.
On the occasion, all the Munshis (MHCs) were issued Water Campers, Jugs and glasses for serving water to the complainants as and when they approach Police Station for redressal of their grievances.
