UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range Suleman Choudhary today convened a joint security review meeting in view of forthcoming Independence Day.
The meeting was attended by Officers from different Forces and agencies, including SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar; Ramesh Kumar, Commandant 137Bn CRPF; Paras Thapa, Commandant 15 Bn ITBP; M D Sazid, Commandant 187 Bn CRPF; Anwaar Ul Haq, Addl SP Udhampur; Surinder Sharma, Dy CO IRP 24th Bn; Shribagwan, Dy Commandant STC BSF; , Sandeep Kotwal, CID IB Udhampur; J K Kundal, ASC RPSF 15Bn; P S Mishra, AC 84th Bn CRPF; Shahid Nahiem, DySP DAR DPl Udhampur; Vishal Manhas, SDPO Ramnagar; Sheikh Tahir Amin, SDPO Chenani; Sunil Gupta, DySP CID SB and Charanjeet Singh, IC DSB Udhampur.
In the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on present security scenario, law & order situation, under currents, movement and presence of militants, present dynamics and revival of militancy, surveillance over OGWs, surrendered militants.
The DIG imparted necessary directions to the Officers with regard to putting in place foolproof security arrangements for celebration of Independence Day incident free.
SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar apprised the meeting about security measures being taken in the district for smooth and incident free event.
During the meeting, the DIG emphasized upon the strengthening of Inter District Naka points, National Highway Nakas and to keep check on transportation of drugs, weapons etc.
DIG emphasized that all the officers/officials of all the forces deployed for such duties should be properly and exhaustively briefed about nature/importance of duties to be performed by them. Keeping in view the present prevailing circumstances, proper coordination be maintained with Army/BSF/CRPF and Armed Police for area domination with particular attention towards minority pickets, he said and stressed upon timely sharing of actionable information among all the agencies operating in the district, for surveillance on all anti national and anti social elements in the district.
Meeting ended on a note of better coordination and cooperation among all the agencies.
