UDHAMPUR, Mar 28: DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Mohd Suleman Choudhary conducted a crime and security review meeting in District Police Lines Udhampur today. It was attended by SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar, Addl. SP Udhampur Anwar ul Haq, Dy.SP Hqtrs, SDPOs, SHOs and Pairvi Officers of district Udhampur.
Police Station wise review of progress on crime investigation, Inquests proceedings; crime against women, action against drug peddlers, bovine smugglers, and other anti-national elements were discussed in the meeting. Besides these, progress of Police Stations on tracing of missing persons, absconders, solving of theft and burglary cases and execution of court process were also discussed threadbare.
Officers were instructed to achieve notable progress on disposal of pending inquest proceedings, investigation of theft cases and cases under NDPS Act besides other special reported cases.
The DIG exhorted officers to review the new trends of radicalisation and attempts to revive militancy in district Udhampur and stressed all the officers should work hard, keep a track on the activities of OGWs and Surrendered terrorists of their area so as to keep a check on their nefarious designs.
Choudhary further stressed that officers should use technology to counter new trends in terrorism and also monitor social media platforms which are being used to radicalise the local youth.
Earlier in a simple but impressive function organised by Range Police Headquarter Udhampur the DIG dustibuted uniform-articles and desks to the students of different Schools.
Later in the afternoon, Final match of Range level volleyball tournament between Udhampur and Reasi teams was conducted in DPL ground Udhampur in which Udhampur clinched the final trophy.Suleman Choudhary distributed the cash rewards and certificates to the winner and runner up team.
Speaking on this occasion, Choudhary stressed upon the participants to act as ambassadors of peace and social harmony. He advised the youths to channalise their energy for betterment of society and stay away from the menace of drugs and other social evils.
