JAMMU, Feb 23: Kaend Gulaban Haend -the Kashmiri poetry collection of Dildar Mohan hit stands today.
The book was released at a simple but impressive function held at K L Sehgal hall here. The function was organized by Nagrad Adbi Sangam. Ramesh Hangloo president, Pir Panchal was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Aseer Kishtwari. Prof R L Shant , Abdal Mehjoor and Rattan Lal Talashi were the guests of honour.
In his address Aseer Kishtwari said that the writers play an important role in preserving the language. He appreciated the literary talent of Dildar Mohan and said the book shows the poetic sense of the author.
Ramesh Hangloo who is also the founder Director of Radio Sharda acclaimed the Nagrad Adbi Sangam in preserving the Kashmiri language and highly lauded the contribution of Dildar Mohan to Kashmiri poetry.
He said KP Diaspora is working hard to reach the progeny for strengthening the cultural values and ethos. He also highlighted the role of Radio Sharda 90.4 FM in this regard.
Abadal Mehjoor president, Mehjoor Foundation said the Nagrad Adbi Sangam deserves all credit for preserving Kashmir language in exile and also termed Dildar Mohan a creative writer. Prof Rattan Talashi said that the mother tongue is identity of any community and writers have to play a major role in preserving the mother tongue.
G R Hasrat Gadda a well known art critic, Prof P N Trisal a renowned educationist and Prof R L Shant an eminent writer also acclaimed the book of Dildar Mohan.
B K Sanyasi also spoke on the book while Avtar Hugami presented paper on the book. The welcome address was read by A K Naz, president, Nagrad and the vote of thanks was proposed by Vijay Sagar while Bindya Tickoo conducted the proceedings.
