JAMMU, Apr 20:  The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement held a protest rally under the leadership of its president Sunil Dimple, amidst sloganeering and burnings of effigies of BJP-PDP Government, demanding immediate repair of city roads.
Addressing the protestors Sunil Dimple alleged that the PWD R&B Ministry has totally failed.
He said all the MLAs and MPs of  BJP are mum and no development is taking place in the Jammu city and particularly in the West Assembly constituency, where all the development is at halt and this is the largest constituency of the State.
He alleged that all the roads of the constituency falling under the PWD city division are damaged and added that dust pollution has damaged the showrooms, business goods worth lakhs of rupees and is causing fatal breathing diseases for the people.
He said patchwork is not acceptable to us and we will not allow it in the city as the patch work has no accountability.
Dimple also gave ultimatum to PWD R&B, ERA, PHE, JMC ministries to start the total black topping work immediately otherwise the agitation will be intensified and the Government will be responsible for this.
Dimple urged for directives to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to stop the charging of road tax from the vehicles at Bantalab, Nagrota or JWAM will call for the “Jammu bandh”.
