JAMMU, Jan 5: A protest demonstration was held by Jammu West Assembly Movement led by Sunil Dimple against the Government which had made no mention of the main demands of the people of Jammu region in the Governor’s address in State Legislature on January 2.
Addressing the rally Dimple termed the Governor’s address totally disappointing for the people of the State and in which the Jammu region has been totally discriminated.
The protesters burnt the copies of the Governor’s address and the New Year Govt calendars of 2018 for the failure of Government to declare the State holiday on the birth anniversary of the Maharaja Hari Singh the former ruler of the State at Janipur High Court road.
They also showed their ire against the NGT, anti Amarnath yatra, Vaisho Devi yatra restrictions, failure to grant the “minority status” to the Hindus of the State, against the frequent of ceasefire violation on LoC and IB and killing of security forces jawans, release of the 5500 stone pelters and increasing attacks on the security forces camps, police stations.
The rally was also against the 25 BJP MLAs, MLCs, MPs, the coalition BJP-PDP Government which failed to control the militancy, Kashmir is burning and the discrimination with the Jammu region has not ended, Dimple said in his address.
He alleged the Governor’s address badly disappointed the people of the State as no holiday announced on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh , the nationalist people of the State have been totally ignored and the open invitation was extended by Governor  to anti-national Pakistan agents, separatists Hurriyat leaders for dialogue which is not acceptable to nationalist people.
He alleged the ceasefire violations are taking place on the LoC and IB in the Jammu region and members of  security forces and Army jawans are being martyred every day.
