JAMMU, Apr 3: Sunil Dimple, president Mission Statehood holds protest on Janipur High Court road demanding ban on sale of liquor in Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded a Bill be passed in the current session of J&K Assembly in this regard. The protestors burnt the copies of the J&K Government Excise Department tenders called for opening 300 wine shops this year, which will be opened in the April month. He also demanded restoration of Statehood to J&K immediately.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple appealed to the people especially women not to allow the opening of wine shops in their wards and areas as it will destroy people especially younger generations.
Dimple alleged Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) 28 MLAs are not interested as they are not raising any voice to ban the sale of liquor, restoration of J&K Statehood. But they want Rs five lakh salaries.
Dimple alleged the liquor, and mutton shops are open in the whole Jammu city as well as in all districts of the region on holy Navratri.
Dimple alleged the Jammu & Kashmir Government Excise Department has completed the tenders work for opening the 300 wine shops in year 2025-26 which will not be allowed at any cost.
He also appealed LG, Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to start Darbar Move, provide free 200 units electricity, 12 LPG cylinders, double ration to all people in the UT.
Dimple also opposed the Waqf Bill passed in the Parliament. Dimple threatened in case the Bill in Assembly is not passed on 7 April to ban the sale of liquor in Jammu Kashmir, “We will start in Jammu Kashmira wide agitation”.
The other leaders who participated included Dev Raj, Vicky Mahajan, Th Bishan Das, Sanjay Sethi, Bramu Sharma, Babu Mahajan, Happy Singh, Akbar Khan, Shafi Khan, Nazir Ahmad and many others.
