Dimple warns against hiking salaries of MLAs

JAMMU, Mar 26: Sunil Dimple president Mission Statehood held a protest demonstration here, today opposing constitution of a Panel to enhance salaries of legislators.
Later talking to reporters Dimple urged the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to ensure that no salaries to legislators are increased till the Statehood is restored.
He said Government is unable to regularise and pay salaries to daily wagers and employees due to the financial crunch. Then why do legislators demand salary enhancement? What special they have done for the youth and people of J&K, he asked?.
Dimple demanded not to increase the MLA’s salaries, who are demanding hike in the same to Rs five lakh per month.
He alleged when Chief Minister, Ministers cannot take any decision, cannot transfer, appoint even class fourth employee then what is the fun of increasing salaries of legislators.
He said already MLAs are enjoying luxuries, Government spending huge on Iftar parties, without any work and power.
Dimple alleged MLAs want more salaries. In spite of demanding the restoration of J&K statehood, waiving off the electricity bills, providing 200 units free electricity, 12 LPG cylinders, double ration to all the people and starting of darbar move, they are bothered for their salaries.
Dimple warned of strong agitation against the enhancement of the salaries to MLAs. He said people of Jammu Kashmir are very poor and State exchequer can’t bear this heavy burden.
The other leaders present in the press conference included Sanjay Sethi, Pt Brahmu Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Molvi Aslam, Akbar Khan, Shafi, Nazier, Rakesh Kumar and others.
