KATHUA, Mar 25: The people from Dinga Amb Tehsil have accused previous respective Governments of discriminatory attitude and alleged that local Govt High School of 1965 has not been upgraded despite long popular demand.
In a meeting of the villagers held at Tehsil headquarters Dinga Amb today under the leadership of Sarpanch, Seema Gupta in presence of Ex-Sarpanch Kuldeep Gupta and others, the villagers expressed strong resentment against the previous Congress and BJP Legislators from Billawar constituency for ignoring the popular demand of the people for the past two decades.
They alleged that adjoining High Schools, which came into existence later than Dinga Amb school, at Mangloor and Sallan have already been up-graded since long, but this High School having good strength and several feeding schools has not been upgraded for the last 55 long years. The Legislators did nothing except false assurances, they maintained.
The Sarpanch alleged that the area was facing acute shortage of water and PHE Department has failed to provide regular supply of drinking water in the entire Tehsil despite the fact that matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE and AEE Hiranagar. They further alleged that worst was the condition of local link road to the village and cremation ground.
The members reviewed the over all scenario in view of coming elections and discussed strategy as their demands have remained unattended since long.
