Diploma Engineers apprise DyCM of their demands

JAMMU, Nov 11:  A deputation of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, led by its president Er Upinder Singh, today called on Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and discussed with him the issues confronting Diploma Engineers cadre of J&K State.
Commissioner/Secretary Irrigation and PHE, Sanjiv Verma, Secretary Technical PDD, Asgar Ali Majaz and Deputy Secretary of R&B, Des Raj Bhagat, were also present on the occasion.
The deputations apprised the DyCM about the demands like adoption of the Punjab pattern for removing stagnation among Diploma Holders at the level of Junior engineers, implementation of Establishment cum Select Committee report, enhancement of the fixed TA, maintenance of cadre strength at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineer.
The deputation explained that Diploma Engineers were facing acute stagnation at the level of Junior engineer in all the Engineering wings of J&K and to resolve the same, Punjab Pattern should be adopted wherein a JE is given the designation of Assistant Engineer after completion of regular service of 10 years.
Dr Singh assured the deputation that these issues would be considered and he also directed the officers present to work out a comprehensive mechanism by which early redress would be worked out.
