Diploma Engineers call on Minister, submit memorandum of demands

Diploma Engineers Association submitting a memorandum of demands to Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma at Jammu on Thursday.

JAMMU, Dec 5: A delegation All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, Jammu, led by its president Er  Upinder Singh, called on the Minister for PHE, I&FC, Sham Lal Sharma  and submitted a memorandum of demands.
In the memorandum, the Association has demanded restoration of entry level grade from Rs 5000-8000 to 6700-10000,  two promotions to every Diploma Engineer before retirement, maintenance of cadre strength at every level, i.e. JE to AE, AE to AEE and AEE to XEn, restoration of JE Grade 1, adjustment of AE’s who have been elevated, recommendation of running grade from the post of JE onwards and enhancement of fixed TA from Rs 30 to Rs 5000 per month.
The  Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and held detailed discussion on each and every demand presented in the memorandum.
He informed that some of the demands of the DEA discussed at Srinagar were  already under the active consideration of the Government while the orders for the adjustment of promoted AEs  shall be issued very soon.
Prominent among those who accompanied the deputation included,  Er Vijay Sharma (general secretary)  Er Rakesh Goswami (Jt secy), Er Pawan Sharma,  Er Anil Gupta, Er Arshad Parvez, Er Suresh Sethi and Er Gopal Badyal.
