JAMMU, Oct 3: All J&K Diploma Engineer Association, Jammu has urged upon the State Government to restore entry level grade to the diploma engineer besides resolving their other pending issues.
In a meeting of the Association held in PWD guest house Gandhi Nagar here today, under the chairmanship of its president Upinder Singh, the members held threadbare discussion and worked out the future course of action getting implemented their long pending demands.
The major demands included restoration of entry level grade, adoption of Punjab pattern under Career Progression Scheme, maintenance of cadre strength at every level and enhancement of FTA from Rs 30 per month to Rs 5000 per month.
While deliberating upon the meeting Upinder Singh strongly resented the callous attitude of the Govt towards diploma engineers.
He said that Association has made a number of representation to the administrative heads of the various wings but their long pending demands have still remained unresolved. He appealed to the cadre to get united under the banner of Diploma Engineer Association, as it has decided to take the course of agitation for implementation of their demands.
General secretary Vijay Sharma, vice chairman Anil Gupta and convenor J S Rathore also spoke on the occasion.
