JAMMU, June 15:  A joint deputation of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association led by  Upinder Singh  and  Ashfaq Chesti called on  DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh at Civil Secretariat Srinagar in presence Commissioner/ Secretary, PDD   Dheeraj Gupta today.
While discussing the issues the members told that inspite of rendering the significant service in the overall development of the state, Diploma engineers have been left stagnated and being deprived promotions against their quota of 20 percent at the level of AE, AEE and Executive Engineers.
Chesti demanded immediate release of promotion list of Diploma engineers which have been kept pending inspite of availability of posts and their eligibility.
Upinder Singh demanded the implementation of Punjab pattern as meagre quota of 20 percent allotted to Diploma engineers has left them stagnated at the level of Junior Engineer and adoption of Punjab pattern is the only available option to remove their stagnation.
Singh sought immediate release of  65 post of AE in PDD in favour of Diploma Cadre under Career Progression Scheme on the analogy of Hyd & R&B Department.
The DyCM gave them patient hearing and directed the  Comm/Secy PDD to release the promotion list of Diploma engineers at the earliest. He assured the deputation that the Govt is having a sympathetic consideration for Diploma engineers the Government would like to take every possible measure to remove their stagnation.
