SRINAGAR, Sept 28: The employees of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) today alleged that their salary has been withheld by the Director, forcing them to stage protest against the ‘highhandedness’ of the officials.
In this connection, the employees also observed a pen-down strike at their Rambagh office in Srinagar which affected the official work throughout the day.
The protesting employees said that one month salary of 17 employees from Jammu Division and 52 from Kashmir Division has been withheld for a month for reasons better known to the higher-ups.
They said that they have been serving the department round the clock, but are now facing “mental harassment.” They, however, said that they are not in the know-how as to why their salary has been withheld. They said they will continue to protest till their salary is not released
The employees said that they have halted the work of the Information division Kashmir until the order is revoked and their salaries are released.
The employees have appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha and Commissioner Secretary Information to look into the matter so that their withheld salary is released at the earliest.
