Dir Horti reviews implementation of PMANB scheme

JAMMU, June 14: Chaired a meeting of Chief Horticulture Officers of Jammu division at Horticulture Complex Talab Tillo (Jammu), Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak reviewed implementation of recently announced Pradhan Mantri Atam Nirbhar Bharat (PMANB) and Vocal for Local schemes.
During the meeting, the Director asked all the officers to submit the Detailed Project Reports of their respective districts under PMANB scheme including strengthening of infrastructure support in terms of machinery and equipments, structure like cold chain, cold storages, transportation infrastructure etc., at an earliest so that the same may be submitted to the higher authorities for approval.
Ram Savak stressed upon all the officers to put full efforts to make the ultra high density plantation of apple fully success besides achieving all other targets including ongoing civil works in time. He further advised the officers to make all the public sector nurseries more viable for production of quality planting material so that the state of self-sufficiency could be achieved in near future. The officers were also advised to ensure that the approved rates of planting material are displayed in public as well as in the private registered fruit plant nurseries.
During the meeting, certain issues were raised by the officers and Director Horticulture gave a patient hearing and assured that all the genuine problems would be sorted out
Deputy Director Horticulture Jammu, Chief Canning Instructor Jammu, Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Director Horticulture Jammu and Accounts Officer were also present in the meeting.
