DODA, Nov 13: Director Agriculture Production & Farmer Welfare Jammu, Inder Jeet conducted three days visit of Doda and Kishtwar districts to review the working of the department and interact with the farmers for on ground assessment of farmers welfare activities undertaken by the department.
Chairing a review meeting of officers at Doda, Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers and field functionaries to create massive awareness regarding various ongoing farmers’ welfare schemes and recent Farm Bills promulgated by Government. He took detailed review of status and progress of KCC, PM-KISAN, Soil Health Cards, Formation of FPOs, Mushroom, Apiculture, Organic Clusters, Custom Hiring Centers, Farmers Whatapp groups and Integrated farming System models.
The stress was given on finalization of concept paper for formation of FPOs of Honey and Rajmesh and get the clearance of District Level Committee as soon as possible. Director further impressed upon the officers to upload beneficiary related data under different schemes on relevant DBT portals and instructed for geo-tagging of all works.
While taking component-wise review of progress of various Centrally Sponsored (CSS) and CAPEX Budget, Director asked the officers to ensure maximum achievement at the earliest and also instructed the staff to follow the guidelines and norms while implementing various farmers’ welfare schemes.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Doda, Shahid Iqbal, Assistant Soil Conservation officer Doda, Illyas Gattu, Chib, Area Development Officer, Monohar Lal Sharma, MDO, Adil Rashid, Apiculture Deveopment Officer, Rajeshwar Singh, SMSs (DL), Ajay Sharma, Khalid Zargar, SDAO, Pranoo, Kuleep Raj Wasan, SDAO Thathri, Shammi Kumar, Subject Matter Specialists, Agriculture Extension Officers, AEAs were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Director Agriculture held detailed interaction with the vegetable growers at Assar and Jathie where he inspected off season maize crop grown with the purpose of getting additional financial returns. He also visited the farmers field at Bhella and Shivnoti to inspect Integrated Farming System and instructed the officers to resolve the issues raised by the farmers at these locations.
He also convened a meeting of the officers at Kishtwar and took stock of progress of various ongoing farmers welfare schemes and programmes. He reviewed the physical and financial progress under CAPEX Budget 2020-21and directed to expedite the expenditure to achieve the targets soon.
Inder Jeet asked the officers and farmers to work in the direction getting GI Tagging for Kisthwar Saffron and other local specialities. He stressed for development of model farming cluster in every panchayat to promote mushroom cultivation, Bee Keeping, Protected Vegetable growing with special focus on organic farming. He further instructed for immediate disposal of left over stocks under norms in a time bound manner.
