Director Health Services conducts comprehensive review of DH Poonch

POONCH, Nov 22: Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu, Dr Rakesh Magotra visited the Government District Hospital (DH) Poonch to assess its functioning, infrastructure, and patient services. He was accompanied by Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, and Dr Nusrat Bhatti, Medical Superintendent (MS) of the Hospital.
During his visit, Dr Magotra inspected various sections of the Hospital, including the Emergency Block, OPD counters, children’s ward, surgical and medicine wards, and specialized areas such as the ultrasound section, X-ray section, CT scan section, and dialysis unit. He also reviewed facilities in the EMR room, blood bank, SNCU, gynaecology wards, and operation theaters, ensuring all departments were functioning efficiently. The ongoing construction of the critical care block was also inspected, with the Director urging the concerned authorities to expedite its completion.
In addition to inspecting infrastructure, Dr Magotra closely examined the Hospital’s service delivery, particularly under the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY SEHAT scheme. He enquired about the daily outpatient and inpatient conversions under the scheme and emphasized the need for on-the-spot issuance of Ayushman cards to admitted patients. The Director also reviewed the laboratory services, the Jan Aushadhi Kendra, and the hospital pharmacy to ensure the availability of affordable and essential medicines.
Later, Dr Magotra held a meeting with the Hospital’s consultants and directed them to focus on delivering better healthcare facilities to patients. He stressed the importance of prescribing medicines in generic names to reduce costs for patients and enhance accessibility. He also addressed the hospital’s sanitary staff, emphasizing the need for punctuality and maintaining cleanliness across all Hospital sections.
