JAMMU, Nov 20: Mission Director, J&K Skill Development Mission Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah chaired an online meeting to review the performance of J&K Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) affiliated training providers at Jammu today.
After assuming the charge of Mission Director, JKSDM recently, this was the first interaction of Dr. Abid with the training providers (TP) empanelled with JKSDM under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
Mission Director, JKSDM stressed upon demand driven skill training to the youth of J&K. He further emphasized on the participants to focus on providing latest job oriented courses such as data mining, cloud computing, 3D printing etc. over and above traditional skilling courses.
Dr. Abid underlined the importance of expanding the reach of training centres in far flung areas of J&K with focus on including maximum number of unemployed youth, including school dropouts.
Dr. Abid stressed upon TP’s to opt for innovative measures in providing quality skilling and job opportunities to the youth of J&K.
During the meeting, representatives of various TPs also put forward their feedback and suggestions. Mission Director, JKSDM resolved most of the queries of the participants during the meeting itself and assured TPs of full support of the Mission in providing skilling opportunities to the youth of J&K.
