JAMMU, Oct 2: Soujanya Sharma Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, conducted an intensive tour of M.C. Chenani, Batote, Banihal, Ramban, Udhampur and Katra.
During the visit various types of Commercial projects were conceived to be developed under Self Finance Schemes. He emphasized to complete the ongoing projects within stipulated time frame and issued directions to all execution agencies to complete all the ongoing works with proper specifications.
Besides this, the sanitation scenario prevailing in these Municipal Committees of Jammu Division was also reviewed and instructions were given to concerned Executive Officers to start the fogging of areas to combat the dengue disease and also to meet the genuine demands of employees at earliest. Instructions were given to provide sufficient amount of street lights. He also directed the EOs to work out the requirement of street lights so that these can be arranged.
At M.C. Chenani, the site for new bus stand alongwith shopping complex was finalized.
At Municipal Committee Banihal, a four storey building with two storey shopping and two storey hotel building was finalized adjoining Municipal Park, Banihal.
At Municipal Committee Ramban, various decisions were taken regarding auction of ongoing commercial projects and he directed E.O. Municipal Committee Batote to identify the new site for Solid Waste Management as the earlier chosen site was on the water body. A new site for Bus Stand was also identified, he instructed E.O. to initiate the proceeding for the acquisition of the said land at Doda- Bhaderwah Patnitop road. He visited Udhampur New Bus Stand land acquisition site and directed C.E.O to initiate the process of which was pending for last so many years. Later, he visited Katra and took stock of works under progress. He directed the E.O. Municipal Committee Katra to complete the work before the Navratra festival.
