JAMMU, Mar 4: Director Social Welfare Jammu, Dr Bharat Bhushan today reviewed implementation of various social welfare schemes in a meeting with District Social Welfare Officers (DSWOs) of Jammu Division.
Ashu Behl (Chief Accounts Officer), Shivwali (Deputy Director, Planning), Shivani Gotra (Assistant Director, Administration) attended the meeting in person in the Directorate of Social Welfare, Jammu whereas District Social Welfare Officers participated virtually.
The schemes reviewed included Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna (PMAGY), SCA to SCSP, Capex, Pre & Post Matric Scholarship to SC students, Inter-caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, NAPDDR, annual action plan for senior citizens, SIPDA etc.
In the meeting, the DSWOs were advised to speed up the implementation of the schemes, so that the physical and financial targets are achieved well in time. The officers were apprised that since last date for submission of applications by the students belonging to SC category for Pre and Post Matric Scholarships have been extended upto 10th March, therefore efforts must be put in to ensure that all the eligible students are covered under the scheme in order to facilitate their education.
The DSWOs were exhorted to personally take up the matter with concerned Chief Education Officers, Principals of Degree Colleges and Heads of Institutions so that maximum number of eligible students can be brought under the ambit of the scheme.
