JAMMU, July 27: Charandeep Singh, Director Rural Sanitation, visited Panchayat Chatha Farm of Block Satwari. The Panchayat has been nominated at the national level from the UT of J&K in Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 2023.
During the visit, Director inaugurated the ODF+ Model status of Panchayat Chatha Farm under SBM(G) 2.0 and congratulated the locals for their efforts in achieving the same.
This was followed by inauguration of the Community Sanitary Complex (CSC) unit near the Passenger Shed in presence of the Sarpanch Avtar Singh and locals of the Panchayat.
The Director Rural Sanitation interacted with the members of the Youth Club and local women of the panchayat and congratulated their efforts for effective utilisation of Community Compost Pits in disposing of biodegradable waste.
This was followed by the visit of Director Rural Sanitation to Panchayat Ghar where the members of Youth Club, SHGs and Sanitation workers were felicitated for their exemplary efforts for sanitation. Director Rural Sanitation also awarded the Sarpanch Avtar Singh for his leadership and proactive role in making the Panchayat achieve the ODF+ Model status.
Besides Director Rural Sanitation, Assistant Commisioner Panchayats, Jammu, Smt. Preeti Sharma and Deputy Director Rural Sanitation, Sana Khan were also present.
The visit concluded by the speech of Director Rural Sanitation where he motivated the PRI members and the locals for sustaining the ODF+ status for the future.
