Director SCERT inaugurates Faculty Development Programme

SRINAGAR, July 9: The Department of Educational Planning, Management, and Monitoring (EPM&M) of SCERT Kashmir Division commenced its five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) for newly deputed faculty members of SCERT Kashmir Division and associated DIETs.
The programme was inaugurated virtually by Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director SCERT Jammu & Kashmir. In his inaugural address, Dr Manhas stressed the importance of fostering robust coordination between SCERT and its associated DIETs to achieve educational excellence.
Dr Manhas also highlighted recent developments within the SCERT society, including the establishment of DIETs of excellence and other strategic initiatives aimed at elevating educational standards.
The inaugural session witnessed active participation and insightful discussions on the latest trends in teacher education and the various aspects of working within SCERT and DIETs. Gulzar Ahmad Dar from EPM&M moderated the sessions.
Dr Fayaz Ahmad Bhat from EPM&M, presented the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development in enhancing the quality of education. He also conducted an engaging icebreaking session, fostering a collaborative and interactive environment among the participants.
Nazir Ahmad Najar from the department of EPM&M delivered an enlightening lecture on 21st-century skills, highlighting the need for educators to adapt to the rapidly changing educational landscape and integrate modern pedagogical practices.
Earlier, Mohd Sultan Khan, Head of Academic Unit II & III, and Head of Academic Unit I, spoke on the significance of such programmes in the professional development of faculty members.
Riyaz Ahmad Dar from SCERT Central EPM&M underscored the importance of goal-oriented Faculty Development Programmes.
The first day of the FDP set a strong foundation for the upcoming sessions, which will cover various aspects of educational policy, planning, administration, leadership, and the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education.
