Director SWD, ADDC review social welfare schemes

UDHAMPUR, May 29: The Director Social Welfare Department (SWD), Dr. Bharat Bhushan and Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar today reviewed the functioning of various social welfare schemes in the district.
Many officers were also present on the occasion. Addressing the officers and officials of the department, Dr. Bhushan stressed upon them to work dedicatedly and tirelessly to reach out to the most deserving cases to be covered under various schemes and initiatives of the department.
He also listened to the grievances of the employees and assured their redressal in a phased manner.
As a token of appreciation the officials of the district presented a hand crafted logo of Beti Bachao Beti Padao to the Director of Social Welfare Department which was crafted by the craft teachers and students of Social Welfare Centres of the district.
Earlier, the Director and ADDC, Udhampur distributed 11 motorized tricycles to the differently abled persons hailing from various areas of the district including Pachote, Sudhmahadev, Mada, Deot, Bansta, Panjar, Barnara, Majalta among others.
The Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar while addressing the gathering urged upon the beneficiaries to put these vehicles to good use by pursuing gainful livelihood.
Later, the Director also called upon the District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla and discussed various issues concerning the Social Welfare Department in the district.
