JAMMU, Apr 3: On the request of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu, the Director Tourism Sojanya Sharma had an extensive tour of Lower Raghunath Bazar, Gumat Bazar, Hari Market, Lower Hari Market and New Kaleeth Nagar area to have an on the spot assessment for beautification of Raghunath Bazar and the areas surrounding the Raghunath Mandir.
He was accompanied by Anil Gupta, junior vice president CCI and presidents of different Bazar Associations.
The shopkeepers apprised the Director Tourism that Modern Poles, Lights, modification of water Chabeel, beautification of park in the Raghunath Temple premises, old fashioned water taps, beautifully tiled footpaths and sitting chairs with sheds outside Raghunath Temple were necessary works to be done for giving a beautiful look and to attract the pilgrims entering Raghunath Temple area. A big gate at Lower Hari Market would also be an attraction, they added.
Director Tourism responded to the quarries of the shopkeepers positively and said that he would try his best to start the work of beautification at the earliest as suggested by the representatives of the said area. He further said that he was always at their services to boost the tourism in Jammu.
The prominent among those who accompanied Soujanya Sharma, included Rajiv Gupta, president, Gumat Bazar Businessmen Association, Rajesh Raina, president, Hari Market Businessmen Association, Rajesh Dewan, president, Lower Hari Market Businessmen Association, and Guruswaroop Gupta, president, New Kaleeth Nagar Businessmen Association.
