KISHTWAR, Jan 5: A meeting of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) District Kishtwar was held under the chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari, here today.
Apart from other issues, non disbursement of free ration to the public of Kishtwar was thoroughly discussed in the meeting.
Chairman of the Union, Joginder Bhandari while addressing the meeting urged upon the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar to issue directions to the Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Kishtwar for disbursing free ration of six months to the public of Kishtwar.
He said that the public of remote and far flung areas of the district have already been supplied the free ration but it is a matter of great concern that the public of Kishtwar and adjoining areas have not been provided free ration which has caused a brewing resentment among the public.
He also demanded dumping of food grains, LPG and kerosene oil in District Kishtwar in view of the winter season, besides demanding provision of fire wood to the public of Kishtwar.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Bashir Khan, Mohd Amin Butt, Tariq Patri, Anil Sharma, Gh Hussain Gannie, Javed Malipath, Akhter Hussain Sheikh, Sardar Satpal Singh, Asgar Ali and Irshad Ahmed.
