NEW DELHI: The Navy today sought to downplay the defence ministry’s move to overturn the force’s decision to create new senior level posts in Delhi and Gujarat, saying discussions are on and the issued will be resolved.
The appointment of two rear admiral-rank officers as Flag Officer Delhi Area (FODA) and Flag officer Gujarat Naval area (FOGNA) is understood to have been made without the consent of the MoD.
Responding to a query on the issue, Navy chief Sunil Lanba said, “We are in discussion with the Ministry of Defence and we will resolve it.”
He was speaking on the sidelines of a seminar organised by FICCI on ‘Building India’s Future Navy Technology Imperatives’. (AGENCIES)
