UDHAMPUR, June 25: The Need Based Workers of PWD (R&B) who were recently disengaged by the Government, today held a strong protest demonstration against the order of their discontinuation.
The protest was held in the premises of PWD Office Udhampur. Shouting slogans against the Government, they threatened to launch State wide agitation if their services are discontinued. They condemned the PWD (R&B) authorities for implementing the Government order number 239-F of 2005, dated 29-11-2005 for discontinuation of the engaged workers who have been performing their services for more than one and half decade in different parts of difficult areas of Udhampur district.
In Udhampur Circle, about 200 Need Base Workers are performing services since years.
The protesting workers also lamented that their wages were not released since February last.
