The administration terminated the employment of four Government personnel, including the president of the Doctors Association of Kashmir and a policeman, over their alleged connections to terrorism. The dismissals are part of an ongoing crackdown on the terrorist ecosystem and its key stakeholders, who have infiltrated Government machinery in the past. The dismissals are in line with Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution. Persisting in its unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, the Government has ousted employees, showcasing a systematic dismantling of the separatist ecosystem. Strategic foresight and meticulous planning are imperative to uprooting terrorism. Delving into the specifics of the dismissed individuals reveals the pervasive infiltration of the terrorist network, even within Governmental departments. The President of the Doctors Association of Kashmir, a Government teacher, a police constable, and a fourth-class employee exemplify the diverse range of secessionists infiltrating nearly every department. Scrutinising the history of the 50 employees dismissed thus far unequivocally illustrates that these individuals enjoyed unequivocal patronage from higher-ups. The severity of the matter is underscored by instances where an employee detained under the PSA not only received full attendance but also full salary during imprisonment. A doctor, with familial ties to a terrorist commander in Pakistan, actively engages in recruitment and repeatedly incites trouble in the valley. Over the years, fabricated incidents like alleged rapes or encounters have been exploited by these elements to foment large-scale unrest throughout the valley, resulting in prolonged shutdowns.
A particularly disconcerting facet has been the absence of any disciplinary departmental action in these cases. However, the grip of the law is rapidly tightening around these separatists. Their current and past transgressions are meticulously documented in the charge sheets, leaving no room for escape from justice. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, CID, SIU, SIA and other agencies are working in tandem to amass foolproof evidence. The Government deserves commendation for unequivocally supporting these agencies with explicit instructions to bring every culprit to justice. Perpetrators of separatism, terrorism, and their sympathisers are under vigilant scrutiny. The unequivocal message is that there is no room for secessionism. The majority of the populace relishes the fruits of democracy and these handfuls will be dealt with by Government agencies. Terrorism is a thing of the past and those oblivious to this stark reality will face similar consequences. The Government’s unyielding commitment to peace leaves no room for the ISI to exploit these potential time bombs within the administration in the future.
Drawing Government salaries while clandestinely serving as agents of ISI is now a thing of bygone eras. The proscription of JeI, the legal repercussions faced by Hurriyat leaders, with their headquarters sealed, and the incarceration of erstwhile top terrorists turned political figures grappling with charges related to terrorism and hawala transactions signal an unequivocal crackdown on those engaged in separatist activities. The recent dismissals of individuals serving as puppets of Pakistan are sounding the death knell for secessionism. This is not an isolated case, as the Government has displayed an unequivocal stance, even dismissing the offspring of the Hizbul Mujahideen Chief. The lack of action by past administrations had emboldened these elements to unprecedented levels, openly leading mobs during riots.
Engaging in fabricating post-mortem reports to falsely accuse security forces of heinous crimes, orchestrating financial support, recruiting impressionable youth, and fuelling fanaticism-all of these activities have persisted unchecked for decades. Practically, no individual can evade the clutches of the law while persisting in secessionist pursuits. The Government has firmly instituted the rule of law, effectively dismantling the vicious cycle of violence and terrorism. While the eradication of this deeply entrenched rot may take some time, the law is rapidly closing the gap. The ecosystem supporting secessionism must be dismantled at any cost.
