Dismiss Omar Govt, impose Governor rule in J&K: NPP

RAJOURI, June 25: National Panthers Party (NPP) supremo Prof Bhim Singh has strongly condemned the killing of eight Army jawans in Kashmir and demanded immediate dismissal of Omar Abdullah Government in the State.
Addressing a press conference here today, Prof Singh strongly pleaded for imposing Governor rule in the State and dismissal of Omar Government. He alleged that Omar led Government has failed to contain militancy and such acts indicate that there was some internal support to the subversive elements operating in Valley freely and that too, on the visit of Prime Minister of the country. Prof Singh strongly condemned the killings of the jawans and demanded that Governor rule be imposed immediately.
Prof Singh pointed out that several resolutions were passed in the 36th National Integration camp held at Sudhmahadev and all the top leaders of the party including Harshdev Singh (MLA), Balwant Singh Mankotia (MLA), Yash Paul Kundal (MLA), Sayed Rafiq Shah (MLC), Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Daljit Singh, P K Ganju, B L Sharma, Anita Thakur, HC Jalmeria, Shakti Gupta and others were present during the camp.
Expressing grave concern over the illegal import of illicit weapons from foreign countries into several States in India which have been used by the disgruntled elements in the society to disturb peace, the NPP demanded urgent action by Government to stop the smuggling of weapons. The NPP expressed sympathy with the people who suffered due to earthquake in Doda and Kishtwar and demanded immediate rehabilitation. It also demanded immediate help for the pilgrims from J&K who have been struck in Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttrakhand.
NPP also sought implementation of 73rd and 74th Amendment in the Indian Constitution to empower Panchayats to ensure equitable development besides delimitation of Assembly constituencies.
