SRINAGAR, Feb 24: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has termed the dispensing of requirement of a license to start operation of stone crushers, hot and wet mixing plants in Jammu and Kashmir as a practical implementation of Government’s slogan of Ease of Doing Business.
President FCIK Shahid Kamili said that the decision would provide succour to the eight lakh people in J&K besides boost the supply of raw material required in the construction sector.
Kamili said that the extending the applicability of provisions regulating the working of industrial units to these will help in doing away with the need of obtaining respective licenses from the Mining Department.
“Simplifying the unit establishment process by reducing the requisite clearances/ NOCs to merely two documents of Consent to Operate (CTO) from Pollution Control Board (PCB) and NOC from the concerned Deputy Commissioner regarding the title of land and its usage will encourage enterprenuers to setup these plants besides boosting construction activity and employment generation in J&K,” FCIK President said.
He thanked Lietuanant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Adviser Baseer Ahmed Khan, Financial Commissioner Finance Dr A K Mehta, Principal Secretary Lt Governor Nitashwar Kumar Commissioner Secretary Industries Manoj Kumar Diwedi for the decision that will provides major relief to the entrepreneurs by removing the burden of double registrations.
“We are thankful to Government for doing away with rigorous procedures of registrations with the Industries and Commerce Department as well as the Mining Department,” he said.
Meanwhile Kamili also expressed gratitude to the LG Sinha for fulfilling the long pending demand of operationalizing local filters on GeM (Government E-Marketing) portal.
Recently FCIK administrative council had requested LG Manoj Sinha during their meeting in Jammu to fulfil this demand at earliest so that local entrepreneurship gets boost and would enable the departments to procure Goods and Services from the local manufacturers.
“He has been kind enough to impose a local filter for betterment of local unit holders at earliest who are struggling to keep their units functional in turbulent times,” he said.
Kamili requested the LG Sinha to ensure equitable distribution is maintained after the gem portal rates are obtained so that there is revival of industry.
