JAMMU, Apr 19: Kashmiri Pandits today held a protest demonstration at Jagti and torched the effigy of separatist leader Yasin Malik and Swami Agnivesh for opposing the settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley in a composite township.
The protest was organized by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) led by Shadi Lal Pandita. The protestors’ raising slogans demanded immediate arrest of Yasin Malik and Swami Agnivesh for their outbursts.
They said Swami Agnivesh be also dealt under law for supporting anti national and separatists who also waived Pakistani flags in Kashmir.
In his address Pandita said the separatists and militants are enemies of mankind as they have killed the people from Hindu, Muslim and Sikh Communities during last 26 years and deserve to be crushed once for all.
He also while highlighting the problems of the displaced people demanded that the community be settled in a Satellite township in Valley being the aborigines of Kashmir. He said the demand of Satellite township is not of RSS or BJP as alleged by Hurriyat leader Moulvi Umer Farooq but of the KP community as a whole.
He also took the Government to task for its failure in enhancement of cash relief and said thrice announcement was made in this regard while nothing was done on ground. He demanded issuance of ration slips immediately and launching of recruitment drive in police besides settling the other problems of the community.
The protesters were also addressed by Rajinder Dhar, Hari Krishan, Raj Nath Raina and Ratan Lal Bhat.
