JAMMU, Apr 19: District of ration and essential items continued in different parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir amid outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Former Minister Chander Parkash Ganga distributed essential raw food items packets among 60 needy families at Village Dasal Panchayat Kartholi Upper along with Rohit Charak Naib Sarpanch. Among others present were Atresh Dutta BJP Block President Bari Brahmana, Jai Ram Sharma Sarpanch Tarsem Singh Charak, Narinder Partap District President BJYM Samba, Kuldeep Singh Retd Captain and others.
General Secretary JKPYC Avijot Singh distributed homemade masks among the people in RS Pura Assembly segment of Jammu District.
In order to ensure that no one sleeps hungry in the district during countrywide lockdown amid COVID19, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh distributed free ration for the month of April to poor and needy souls at Atti village of District Rajouri under Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalayan Anna Yojana. Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Mukhtar Ahmed Lone, District Information Officer Rajouri Narinder Raina, Sarpanch Panchayat Atti and other officials of CAPD Department were present on the occasion.
Udhampur Unit of the National Conference distributed the flour to the people of Dibber, Battal Ballian and Thill Rown villagers. District President Sunil Verma, Akash Verma, Jasbir Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Keval Krishna Raina, Om Prakash Panch, Mohammad Rafiq Panch, Naresh Sharma, Gopal Krishna, Shakti Kumar, Chaudhary Minar Khan, Sansar Chand and many others were present on the occasion.
All Safai Karamchari Union Bhaderwah distributed dry ration kits among 60 needy families of Bhaderwah. President of the Union Mohammad Abbas and many others were present on the occasion.
Senior Congress leader and Ex General Secretary Vinod Misra distributed the ration among the needy families at Ward No 8 Samba.
Daughters of Panun Kashmir (DOPK), Inspire Foundation and Deepak Women’s Development Society jointly organised an event of distribution of ration, masks and cash assistance to the needy and d Deserved families in Ward Number 39 of Jammu city. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader, Vijay Raina, Sarpanch- Chawalgam (Kulgam), RS Chib, Councillor, Ward Number 39, Rakesh Kaul, Councillor, Mattan Municipal Committee, Vimla Chrungoo, Secretary-DoPK, Sameer Bhat, Convener Panun Kashmir Youth, Deepak Khanna, Sandeep Kisroo of Deepansh Electroventures 3M Brand, GR Dafara, Rajaji Kachru and youth activists participated in the event.
Coy troops of 48 Battalion BSF distributed dry, fresh and Rs 500 cash each to five families of village Chakdaya in District Samba in presence of Mohammad Basir Ahmad Panch village Chakdayal, Mohammad Razi Alam AC, JP Singh AC, HC/G Shyama Ram, HC/G Trilochan Nayak and others.
SHO Ghagwal Police Station Sudhir Rototra distributed ration and essential items to 30 needy families.
“We The Human” distributed free ration among 18 migrant labourer families at Lower Roop Nagar in presence of Sub Inspector Jarnail Singh alongwith police personnel from Janipur Police Station. Ration for 20 families was handed over to Rajpura Welfare Committee. We The Human Jammu team has been carrying on with free relief distribution items in coordination with office of SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil and Pooja Gupta Owner Himalayan Bio Organic Private Limited. KYS Manhas Principal District and Session Judge (Retd) Chairman of the trust made an appeal to all members of “We The Human” and philanthropic persons to come forward and be part of this noble cause.
Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Vinod Malhotra, along with staff distributed ration and other food items to 400 people of Labourer Colony, Railway Station, Jammu and its adjoining areas. DTM Northern Railways Chetan Taneja and District Social Welfare Officer Ajay Salan were also present on the occasion. Besides this, IRCS has also distributed ration among poor and needy families at Nai Basti, Greater Kailash, New Plot and Christian Colony, Gandhi Nagar.
Youth Wing of BJP Kashmir Displaced District distributed dry ration and masks among poor and needy people in Durga Nagar area. The programme was organised by Rahul Koul Youth President BJP KDD, while Ayush Bhat Secretary Social Media, Makhan Lal Bhat Vice President KDD, Kaka Ji Raina, Kapil Singh Chib Corporator Ward Number 64, TN Bhat President BJP KDD, Vinod Pandita and Verender Sathu General Secretaries and many others were present on the occasion.
J&K Civil Society led by Dr Yudhvir Gupta, Convener, Er Kiran Wattal Spokesperson and Prem Sharma Secretary handed over N95 masks to Dr Dara Singh, Medical Superintendent Government Medical College Jammu.
