JAMMU, May 2: Distribution of ration and essential items among the needy persons continued here today.
Senior Congress leaders of DCC Jammu Urban resumed distribution of free dry ration among needy families in view of the lockdown. Led by Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister J&K and General Secretary JKPCC Incharge District President Jammu Urban, the team of senior leaders dispensed essential food items to the doorsteps of families in the Upper Rajpura area. Senior leaders Neeraj Gupta, Secretary PCC and Ramakanth Khajuria, Senior Vice President DCC accompanied Sawhney.
Kotli Colony Welfare Trust in a joint initiative with All J&K Christian Mahasabha distributed dry ration to 45 needy distress families at New Plot Ward Number 16. Chairman of the trust Chandan Datta, SI Vikas Singh Jasrotia, Ashu Peter Matto President All JK Christian Mahasabha, Sunny Khokhar and Pritpal Singh Bindra were among others present on the occasion.
MD Bandey Memorial Society Poonch with reached out to the people of people living LOC and distributed the packs of dry food to widows, orphans, physically challenged persons and also to other poor labourers. Er Saleem Bandey General Secretary of the Society, Imran Hussain Shah, Liaqat Bandey, Kuljit Singh, Asif Kirmani, Waseem Raja, Jagjit Singh, Sohail Imtiaz, Sarpanch Bagh Hussain Rathore, Molvi Basharat Hussain, Zakir Rathore and many prominent persons of the village were also present on the occasion.
Team DPS Katra donated masks, sanitizers and gloves to security personnel. Team was lead by Vandna Sharma, Simmi Sharma, Manikarnika Sharma, Gourav Bakshi, Dayal Ram and Kamal Nain in reaching at CRPF Camp Dhirti and different Police Check Posts on the way to Kakriyal, Police Post Kakriyal and Ban Toll Plaza, Nagrota. Jitendra Kumar Gupta Commandant 6 Battalion CRPF and his supporting team including Sandeep, Second in Command, Ravi Shankar Sharma, Deputy Commandant, Bijender Singh Rawat Deputy Commandant, Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh, Medical Officer, Inspector T Lingamani, Sub Inspector Surendar Kumar, Havildar Pappu Kumar and Inspector Sanjeet Sharma were among others present on the occasion.
A voluntary social organization namely Live For Others-Being Helpful distributed ration kits among the needy families in Udhampur area. NSS volunteers also contributed in this drive by donating relief material and extending financial help. Vivek Parihar NSS Volunteer and Co-Founder of the Organization and Vikas Pandita Founder of the organization coordinated the whole activity. Shashi Sadotra, Sarpanch Kamaldanga area and Pankaj Kerni, Naib Sarpanch Jib were also present on the occasion. Rakesh Singh, Deewakar Singh, Arya Mahajan, Hritik Verma, Abhinandan and others contributed in this distribution drive.
Tehsildar Reasi Munshi Ram today distributed food packets among stranded labourers at Ward Number 6 of Reasi town. Each food packet contains 10 kg wheat flour, 8 kg rice, cooking oil, pulses, salt and other essential food items.
Local branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanayakumari distributed goods among the police and armed force personals as a mark of respect and regard for their contribution. Shiva Sikarwar, Pooran Kalin of Vivekananda Kendra, Naresh Sharma SHO Janipur Police Station and many others were present on the occasion. Kendra workers held such camps today at Janipura Chowk, High Court Chowk, New Plot, Amphalla Chowk, Hari Niwas Naka, Nagrota bypass, Sidhra bypass, Panjtirthi Chowk and outside the Raj Bhawan gate.
